Here is one way to go if you want to know how to remove red wine out of carpet: 

1. Blot as much of the wet area as possible first. The more you remove the less it will stain.
2. Pour Cold water on the stain and continue to blot with a clean white towel. Continue this step until no more of the stain fades.
3. Mix 3pts baking soda to 1 part water and apply to the wine stained area. Allow to dry and then vacuum the spot. Stain should be gone!
